Netsoccer is a Windows-based top-down platform that is ideal for those who enjoy this exciting sport.
We should first note that there have been a number of Netsoccer games since their creation close to a decade ago. However, we will be focusing upon the latest version that was released in November of 2012. Perhaps the most notable feature of this game in comparison to its competitors is that the gamer will have control of one player as opposed to an entire team. Thus, there is much more of a "personal" feel in regards to the overall experience.
Graphics
Those who played the original version of Netsoccer were likely disappointed at the relative simplicity involved. However, the 2012 version has made some massive leaps forward in terms of realism. While this game is not on par with widely popular alternatives such as FIFA football, the truth of the matter is that the graphics are impressive for a free download. The intricacy of the stadiums has been vastly enhanced as are the movements of the players upon the pitch. An angled view of the match is seen to be better than the previous top-down perspective espoused by the first version.
Player Competition
Netsoccer enables players to choose several different options. Those who are new to the game could choose to participate in a preparation match as opposed to a live competition. Once one feels comfortable enough, he or she can then join a team of their choice. Other gamers in the online community will represent different players on this and the opposing team. So, there are very real personalities and skill sets in regards to the characters on the pitch. This can prove to be much more exciting than playing against the artificial intelligence of a computer alone.
System Requirements
According to authoritative sites, Netsoccer is currently available only for Windows XP. However, some claim that other platforms such as Windows 7 and Windows 8 will support this software as well. It is recommended that the Direct X 8.1 codec (or later versions) be used in order to guarantee smooth graphics.
While some may consider this game to be a "no-frills" version of more in-depth packages, Netsoccer can still be a great deal of fun and provide hours of excitement.
